Appleton Learning Planning To Expand To South Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Fresh off a "Final Four" finish in the Bloomberg BusinessWeek 25 Under 25, Appleton Learning is preparing to expand to south Huntsville.
"We were so thrilled," said Sonia Robinson, director of marketing for the Huntsville-based company. "We didn't know how it (the voting) was going to go."
More than 5,000 readers voted since the magazine published the list of profiles last month. Appleton founder Glenn Clayton was on the annual list of 25 business owners under age 25.
Appleton receive 6.2 percent of the vote, trailing top finisher scoreAscore, a Los Angeles online music brokerage, which had 11. 8 percent. ThinkLite, which creates custom, energy-efficient lighting systems and includes such clients as AT&T and Kodak, had 8.3 percent; Delta Produce, a Maryland online produce-marketing business, had 6.6 percent; and Desmos, which creates software to help students and teachers collaborate remotely, was fifth with 6.1 percent...
